Hello, I'm Charlie.
I help people get the most out of their computers — with friendly, plain-English support for Linux, and honest website hosting. No jargon, no pressure, no hidden costs.

What I can help with
Give your laptop a free new lease of life
If your laptop feels slow, or Windows has stopped supporting it, I can install Linux on it for free. It's a fully remote service — you post it to me or drop it off, and I'll send it back ready to go.

How it works
Straightforward help, straightforward pricing
I want you to always know where you stand, so here's exactly how it works.
If something on the support plan turns into proper troubleshooting, I'll always tell you before it becomes chargeable at £40 an hour — you'll never be billed without knowing first.
Common questions
A proper website, without the agency price tag
Two ways I can build your site, depending on what you need.
About Charlie
FOSSCharlie is just me — no team, no call centre, no sales targets. I got into Linux and open source years ago and never looked back, and I set this up to share that with people who might not otherwise get the chance to try it.
A lot of what I do isn't really about making money. It's about keeping perfectly good laptops out of landfill, and helping people feel confident using their computers without being talked down to or ripped off.
Everything is done remotely by post or online, so it doesn't matter where in the country you are. And prices are always clear before anything is chargeable — no surprises, ever.
Note: FOSSCharlie is a separate, independent business — it's not connected to the FOSSNerds podcast.
